Terms & Conditions : Happy Peak Tours

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking your tour with us.

1. Booking & Confirmation

  • A full deposit (100% Payment) is required to confirm your booking (Unless negotiated)
  • Full payment must be completed at least 30 days before the tour start date.
  • Bookings are confirmed only after receiving all necessary documents (passport copy, travel dates, etc.).

2. Bhutan Visa Process

  • All international tourists require a visa (except for India, Bangladesh, and Maldives nationals).
  • We will process your visa once full payment and required documents are received.
  • Visa fee: USD 40 (included in your package unless stated otherwise).
  • Visa is issued within 5–10 business days and delivered electronically.

3. Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)

  • The Bhutanese government requires a USD 100 per person, per night SDF.
  • Children aged 6–12: 50% discount. Children under 6: exempt.
  • The SDF is non-refundable once submitted.
  • This fee is already included in your tour package.

4. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Notice / Refund Amount

  • 45+ days before trip : Free cancellation
  • 30–44 days before trip : 75% cancellation fee
  • 15–29 days : 50% cancellation fee
  • 0–14 days : Non-refundable

Note: Visa fee, SDF and bank charges are non-refundable once processed.

5. Travel Insurance

  • All travelers are requested to have valid travel insurance covering health, accidents, and emergency evacuation.
  • Proof of insurance may be requested.

6. Amendments & Changes

  • Date or itinerary changes must be requested at least 30 days before the tour.
  • Additional charges may apply depending on season, availability, and third-party policies.

7. Health & Safety

  • Guests must ensure they are physically fit for high-altitude travel.
  • Inform us of dietary needs, allergies, or medical conditions in advance.

8. Conduct During the Tour

  • Guests are expected to respect local customs, cultural sites, and Bhutanese law.
  • The use of illegal substances, disruptive behavior, or disrespect toward locals may result in termination of the tour without refund.

9. Force Majeure

We are not liable for cancellations or changes due to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Political unrest
  • Flight delays
  • Pandemics (In such cases, we will assist with rescheduling or provide partial refunds as per supplier policies.)

10. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Personal injury, loss, or theft
  • Damage or delays caused by third parties (airlines, hotels, transport providers)
  • Guests travel at their own risk and are advised to take necessary precautions.

11. Legal Compliance

  • All tours are conducted in line with the Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB) guidelines.
  • Independent travel is not permitted in Bhutan. Visitors must travel through a licensed operator and be accompanied by an authorized guide.
